President SOA’s Message.
Hội Ngộ  SOAR  47^th khai mạc vào Thứ Hai,  16 tháng 10 năm 2023 lúc 09:00 và hứa hẹn những sự kiện thú vị cũng như xuyên  qua buổi Đại tiệc vào tối Thứ Năm.  Hội SOA và Ủy Ban kế hoạch SOAR đã cố gắng  hết mình  cho việc này.
Hai diễn giả  xuất sắc  đã cam kết. vào thứ Tư, ngay trước cuộc họp  Hội Viên Bộ trưởng Cựu chiến binh Hoa Kỳ, Denis McDonough, thông báo cho hội viên  SOA, gia đình và bạn bè về VA.
Người diễn thuyết cho bữa tiệc thứ Năm cũng không kém phần  bất ngờ: Tướng Bryan Fenton, Tổng tư lệnh Bộ Chỉ huy Tác chiến Đặc biệt Hoa Kỳ ... GEN Fenton có thể sẽ phát biểu từ một địa điểm rất  xa không được tiết lộ ở Châu Âu.
Chúng ta bắt đầu ngày khai mạc ngày hội ngộ  vào thứ Hai. Hãy  ghi danh  sớm và cùng nhau tham dự  buổi  bắn súng tại  Quận Clark thời gian sau buổi trưa để cùng nhau có thời gian vui vẻ  qua việc bắn súng lục, súng nòng ngắn và các loại vũ khí khác. Các hội viên SOA, cùng bạn bè và gia đình chắc chắn sẽ được đón chào nồng nhiệt.
Buổi sáng thứ ba bắt đầu với một sự kiện mới khác, buổi sáng cầu nguyện, sau đó là việc ký tặng Sách của các  Tác giả bắt đầu lúc 12:30
Chiều thứ Ba với sự góp  tay của Đại tá hồi hưu(Ret) Mark Michell, một trong những "Kỵ Binh " nổi tiếng của Nhóm số 5 ở Afghanistan, chỉ một tuần sau vụ 11/9. Chương trình giải trí tối thứ Ba năm nay chúng ta có buỗi trình diễn Cirque du Solei ngoạn mục với tên: The Beatles LOVE.
Thứ Tư là một ngày trọng đại. ủy ban POW/MIA sẽ có mặt lúc 10:00, sau đó là bữa  ăn trưa chung  tại Phòng Thảo luận Mardi. Ban phụ trợ SOA họp buổi chiều, cùng  với  phần phát biểu của Bộ Trưởng McDonough  (TBD). Một cuộc họp hội viên chung của Chúng ta sẽ tiến hành nhanh chóng, sau đó là buổi nếm thử rượu. Tối hôm đó, tổ chức một giải đấu bowling khó có thể bỏ qua.
Thứ Năm mở đầu bằng bữa điểm tâm của CCS (Chiến Đoàn 3 XK)  nổi tiếng, sau đó là hội nghị chuyên đề về Phúc lợi và Sức khỏe SOA hàng năm. Sự kiện cuối cùng diễn ra vào sáng thứ Năm trước khi chúng ta nghỉ  để chuẩn bị dự tiệc là phần trình bày của Không Quân về AHC lần thứ 195.
Trước buổi tiệc  được bắt đầu với uống khai vị cocktail trong Phòng Esplanade và buổi tiệc sẽ bắt đầu vào lúc 17:30. Và sau buổi tiệc  như thường lệ,  mời các bạn  cùng gia đình  và thân hữu đến PHÒNG KHÁNH TIẾT  SOAR NỔI TIẾNG THẾ GIỚI tại Mardi Gras,  từ  09:00-24:00 .
Đừng quên ghi danh tham dự  Dự Án Lịch Sử Video SOA nếu bạn chưa phỏng vấn. Và những người bạn nhiệt tình  của chúng ta,  những người đang tiếp tục thiết kế lại Trò chơi điện tử Prairie Fire, cũng sẽ có mặt.

The deadline for room reservations at the group rate at the Orleans has been extended to 25 September 2023. Our friend and vendor Brad Davis of Pop Smoke coffee can't join us at SOAR this year.  Fear not coffee drinkers, John Vislosky has sweet talked Frontier Coffee into filling the void. The company was founded by a Special Forces operator.  For those at risk, try to get your flu shot and the new RSV Vaccine with time for them to take effect before arriving in Las Vegas.

FOCUS ON SOAR XLVIII - Ghost Soliders of El Salvador On Thursday morning at this year's SOAR Mr. Greg Walker will be sharing a one-hour presentation on the role MACV SOG soldiers played in the ten-year counter-insurgency in El Salvador. Titled "Ghost Soldiers", the presentation will offer the history of only the second successful U.S. counter-insurgency campaign to have been conducted by American military forces in modern times. Walker, himself a veteran of the war in El Salvador, is one of the co-founders of the Veterans of Special Operations El Salvador (VSO-ES), the organization that after a decade-long grassroots political campaign saw full combat recognition, honors, and benefits authorized by the U.S. Congress in 1996. Greg, himself a Life member of the SOA, will discuss the contributions former SOG / MIKE Force and RECONDA soldiers made during the course of the war in El Salvador to include comments and observations from Major Generals Eldon Bargewell and Ken Bowra. Mr. Walker has dedicated his presentation to the memory of  Spider Parks. Parks served as battalion Sergeant Major of the 3/7th Special Forces Group (ABN) in Panama in the early 1980s. Any SOA members who served in El Salvador will be invited to stand and be recognized at the conclusion of Walker's symposium.   NEW MEMBERS John Welgos Dominic J. Travel to and from the Orleans Hotel and Casino will be provided by Sweetours Bus Company, which are the same great air-conditioned buses with comfortable seats that our Entertainment Committee Chairman, John Russell provides for all our events.  The bus will arrive at the hotel by 1200 hours (12:00 Noon) and will leave promptly by 1230 hours (12:30 PM).  Loading of the bus will take place outside the hotel lobby starting immediately upon the bus’s arrival. The Beatles LOVE features several scenes inspired by the poetry of the song's lyrics with 60 performers who excel in aerial performances, extreme sports, and urban and freestyle dance.
